Album Notes

Following the success of their first release, “Changes, By The Sea”, the band has grown to nine pieces live. They continue to refine their songwriting style, edging closer to a new and exciting blend of tropical, Cajun and country styles. With the talents of Miyanna Nielsen on saxophone and vocalist Hannah Freidenberg (check out her CD “Hannah’s Field” here on CD-Baby as well), the group’s songs have a wider range than ever before. Multi-instrumentalist Guy Wallis adds a new flavor, the mandolin, to this collection, while still keeping up with the blues harp and keyboards. Percussionist Brandon Marger continues to create smoking groove lines underneath it all.

These songs are a collection of real-life happenings, stories that everyone can relate to. From the title track, “Tequila Inspiration”, about doing crazy things under the influence of said alcoholic beverage, to the comical “ Cabana Cowboy”, a tale about the lost soul who finds his place in life in the Tiki-hut on a beach, renting out beach chairs and chasing tourist girls. “Drive Me Back To Drinkin’ ” is an insider’s look at a marriage gone right, and the consequences the groom’s drinking buddies feel at the “loss” of their excuse to go on a binge. “El Camino Real” closes the CD with a look a Steve’s favorite spot to go and think. It’s the name of a highway that runs along the mountains of the California coastline, and is spotted with old missions and grand views of the Pacific Ocean below.
