Album Notes

The independent feature length sci-fi thriller "Character Killer" was written by Adam Cherier, and directed by Jamie Campana. Composer Greg Johnson wrote 27 different compositions to allow the soundtrack help tell the story. The sounds and genres include acid jazz, contemporary classical, electronic groove music and moody pop. Instruments include guitars, lots of piano and synths, violin sections, percussion from Africa, Asia, India, Europe, North and South America, and "killer drums"!!
For composer Greg Johnson, this is the first full length feature soundtrack, having previously done travel and instructional videos, and more smooth jazz oriented ensemble recordings with his longterm band, Glass Brick Boulevard. Please check out the three other recordings, and the full bio under Glass Brick Boulevard here on cdbaby.
Both Character Killer-the movie, and Character killer-the soundtrack pay homage to the power of Apple digital technology. The film was edited entirely with Apple's "Final Cut Pro", while the score was created, and mixed entirely using its audio companion software Apple's "Soundtrack".
Composer Greg Johnson was formerly a very traditional composer preferring pencils, staff paper, and real musicians. The third Glass Brick Boulevard recording introduced the beginning of his acceptance of sequencers and loops to enhance the recording process. It therefore took a great deal of time to accept the power of an Apple G4. But now the very real and personal way that any creative spirit can explore expression has changed his mind and inspired him forever!!!
