2008 CROSSOVER ARTIST OF THE YEAR AWARD/New Music Award
Quantumelody Productions released Char's debut CD in November of 2007. Success with the songs "My Life" and "Tonight" off of the debut album "Secrets of the Heart" helped her win the new music award.
Blending a contemporary style with light rock there is a fused sound of vocals, clarinet, acoustic rhythm guitar, electric guitar, keyboard, bass and drums. The combination gives a unique signature and originality to her work. The album has engaging mother daughter lead vocals on four of the album tracks; Face of the Wind, Tonight, I Feel Good and Are You Real.
Secrets of the Heart is a great sound to wind down the day on a drive home from work or is pleasurable listening in an intimate setting for “two”.
Char’s writing style takes you on a journey of enlightenment, intrigue and peace.
After attaining her Masters degree from Oklahoma State University, Char began in depth study on guitar at Phillips University in Enid, Oklahoma. In 1989 she became the guitar instructor for the Fine Arts Department at Phillips University. While living in Oklahoma she was the music director for Christian Church of the Covenant, vocal judge for the Tri-State Music Festival and sang with the Enid Symphony.
Following her hearts desire Char began working on her debut album in March of 2007, recording songs that she had written two decades prior. She finished the recording project in August, formed Quantumelody Productions and released "Secrets of the Heart" CD on November 10, 2007.
Char, daughter Amber and husband Jack, perform in a trio together promoting the CD. Amber is a graduate of Arizona State University with a Bachelors degree in Arts and Performance. She is an actress and does studio vocals for local artists. Doc Butler who is the keyboardist for the trio has sung and played with Char since they were young tots. Jack is blessed with perfect pitch and an ear for music that allows creativity and perfection.
The trio’s sound has a folk flare with occasional soft rock with a kinship to Sarah McLachlan. The songs are uplifting and express love, hope, peace and healing. Char is a believer in positive thought and is tuned into the energy movement worldwide. She uses energy work in the creation of her sound recordings and performances. Feedback that she is receiving from fans states that they are receiving this energy in forms of healing. Her music is being used in ICU hospital recovery units, massage clinics, yoga classes, and stress management. Some of the songs on the CD are referring to the invisible realm and the veil that exists between reality and the spiritual realm. Char feels that the quote, "Be Still and Know God" is very significant in her own life.

Love "Secrets"
author: Robert Hosbach
I'm enjoying the "Secrets of the Heart" CD. I love the harmonic and melodic qualities of all the songs. The blended harmonies between Char and Amber really make this music stand out. "My Life (I Love You)", "Face Of The Wind", "If We Change" and "Surges" are my favorites among all the fantastic songs
