«Charivna»(Enchanted) was created in Ukraine city Kharkov.
The group sings different kinds of songs such as Ukrainian folk, old romances and modern songs of famous composers from different countries. Arrangement for four voices and jazz harmonies makes sound unique.
«Сharivna» has its own individual style of performing and singing songs. It makes the group so different among other groups.
«Charivna» participated in different kinds of festivals,
contests and concerts around the World. The group had awardes and nominations in Ukrainian festival «Singing Vernissage» and international contest "Golden Trumpets",
performances in Germany, participated on Ukrainian Heritage month in Cincinnati and throughout the North America.
«Charivna» has huge inheritance of different kinds of songs. ART of the group brings positive development in Ukrainian and other different cultures.

What "Charivna" is singing about. Short contents of songs.
1. «BILA KHATA V SADU» (WHITE COTTAGE IN GARDEN)
This romantic song tells about strong love of two people who couldn’t find each other long time. In the end author compares this kind of love with secrets of nature.

2. «Vzyav bi Ya Banduru» (BANDURA)
A guy is playing on Bandura (Ukrainian national instrument). He is in love with a girl. She is not in love with him. But the guy is keep playing for her melodies of love for the rest of his life.

3. «RUSHNIK» (EMBROIDERED MEMORIES)
An embroidered cloth evokes memories of a mother’s love.

4. «OI U VISHNEVOMU SADOCHKU» (Song of the NIGHTINGALE)
It’s evening in the cherry orchard, a young guy – kozak courts a girl as a nightingale’s song is heard in the background.

5. «OI CHIY TO KIN’» (THE PARTING LOVERS)
Lovers share their last night together before parting
forever.

6. «BODAYSIA KOGUT ZNUDIV» (LET ME SLEEP)
Kogut – in translation from Ukrainian means rooster. After a night out, a girl is awakened by a rooster’s call and is reluctant to arise.

7. «CHOM TY NE PRIYSHOV» (WAITING IN THE MOONLIGHT)
A girl awaits her beau and wonders why he doesn’t appear.

8. «OI HARNA YA Z RODU» (I’M BEAUTIFUL)
She beautiful, self-confident and has the pick of any man she wants.

9. «NESE GALIA VODU» (GALIA)
GALIA – name of girl. Ivanko asks Galia to come into the garden, so he can get a glimpse of her beautiful face. They meet, but misunderstandings arise.

10. «OI NA GORI DVA DUBKY» (DON’T ASK ANY QESTION)
He wants to know whose girl she is. She says, « Enough talk, let’s just have fun! »

11. «MATY&MACHUKHA» (A STEPDAUGHTER’S FATE)
Stepmother has selected a husband for her stepdaughter, who lovers someone else.

12. «WALTZ»
Reminiscence about love, friendship, repatriation after many years.
