Read the headline: Dylan goes Electric.. It sent shivers through the FOLK community. Springsteen goes Acoustic... It sent shivers through the ROCK community. These are Ian Charles' "Basement Tapes". The foundation for all that has come so far. Awesome.

Album Notes

Absolutely incredible! Originally released in 1995 and now back in print by popular demand. No kidding...

The sound is Raw and Untainted. A powerful combination of Folk, Rock, and Blues. "Americana" music at it's best.

From the second you press "play" this Cd grabs you. With an intensity of uncompromising energy and originality.

Available for two years before it's release as a "Bootleg" within the exception of "Chain Gang Revisited" which was an improvised sound-check in the studio.
Today, Songs like "Wild Oats","John James", and "Tough to Balance" are considered classics with Ian Charles fans.

Good stuff

I like this CD alot. I like it for it's simplicity and it's basic rocknroll feel. There is some looseness to it that pretty cool too.

I don't know exactly why. But I like this more than any of his other albums. It's simple and straight forward.Kind of a mixed bag but cool.

One I got through it...

Once I got through the cd for the first time. I realized that I really liked almost every tune. The closing song on it's own is worth the price. The truth is that it's all really good. Definitely basement tapes or maybe demos recordings but, really good as far as songs and songwriting goes. I'll get the other ones in time.
