Album Notes

Charles Brown's latest release: "Journey in a new Land", combines hard hitting, heavy rock and progressive riffs with guitar synth textures & melodies, as well as acoustic and classical elements.

Inspired by stories of the explorations of Lewis & Clark, and the early Colorado mountaineering surveys, "Journey in a new land" takes the listener on a Progressive, musical exploration that incorporates the influences of such artists as: Ritchie Blackmore, Deep Purple, Pat Metheny, Alex Lifeson, Christopher Parkening, Marillion, Dream Theater, and even the slide guitar work of Kim Simmonds from Savoy Brown.

Hailing from Denver, Colorado, Charles has been performing, teaching and composing for over 30 years, and also spent many years with a variety of bands that performed throughout Colorado and the western United States. Charles has been involved with the Colorado Art Rock Society which promotes progressive music and performances in the Denver area. Charles has also been profiled in the guitar magazine "20th century Guitar", and has recently been performing and working on projects with Denver favorite "Yarrow". His other solo CD's are available at CD Baby.com, i-tunes, and e-music.
