Album Notes

Charles' overwhelming desire to make music first manifested at the age of nine. While living in conditions of object poverty, he dismantled his father's wooden bookshelf in order to build his first guitar, using fish hooks for tuners and bicycle brake cable for strings. By the age of 14, he was playing professionally in nightclubs, eventually joining Grammy award-winning reggae group The Mandators as a singer, bass player and producer.

In the early '90s, Charles spent most of his time living in his car in east Oakland, while working as a room service waiter to put himself through school and develop the skill that would provide a foundation for entering the world of digital sound engineering. Charles' next move was to Southern California in 2001 where he signed a recording contract with independent label Coliseum Records and teamed with L.A. Songwriter/ Producer, Steve Zelman to begin production on the 12 original songs which along with a cover of Michael Bolton's Soul Provider, comprise the new CD.

Coliseum Records, Inc. is the future of great music, an independent label based in Pasadena, California. Contracted to major recording companies such as Sony Music, EMI and Polygram.
