Album Notes

Charley Orlando has been writing songs for over 22 years and touring North America for 17. In his career Charley has released 9 albums(Beauty & Pain nominated for 4 grammys in 2004), played 3,000 + shows in 45 states in the USA, Mexico and Canada, and has shared the stage with the likes of Peter Rowan (old and in the way), Jorma Kaukonen (hot tuna and jefferson airplane), David Lindley (jackson browne), John Dawson and David Nelson (new riders of the purple sage), Martin Fierro (legion of mary and the grateful dead), Dave Mason & Jim Capaldi (traffic), moe., Leftover Salmon, Tony Trischka, Spin Doctor’s, and even 70’s and 80’s rockers Meatloaf and Quiet Riot; not to mention such prominent music festivals as the classic High Sierra in California to the up and coming 10,000 Lakes in Minnesota. Currently Charley has assembled an all star band named "Ruha" with Charley on vocals and guitar, Todd Wright on guitar and vocals(dr. dij.), Brad Schirmer on bass(dr. dij.), Cris Noel on vocals(yolk, small appliances), and Jim Loughlin on drums(moe., yolk, banyan). Ruha is releasing their debut album in early 2007. The plan for Charley in 2007 is to release another solo album and to tour both solo and with Ruha.

Mission:Charley advocates unity through the belief that all have the right to a peaceful way of life with the understanding that peace is obtained through tolerance. Hatred, intolerance and oppression are generated by fear and worry. It is the purpose of Charley to diminish thoughts of fear and worry through music with the ultimate goal of a conscious awakening and realization that we are all one in spite of social preferences, political views, religious practices, geographic location or financial status.

This CD brings some kind of comfort in the air just by listening. It may be Charley's voice or just the moment. I recommend this CD to anyone with an appreciation of music and highly recommend CD Baby!

A refreshing view into the pure honesty of a man on a journey.

This is an album that you can wake up to on a quiet morning with a cup of coffee. By the time you hit the forth track, 'Tis True, the caffine is kickin' along with the beat in a back country sort of way that just seems to take you to a familiar place. I'm especially fond of this tune. You really need to pay attention to the guitar work that Charley lays down here. I understand that this album was recorded in a studio but I urge you to check out his live performances that you can download for free from his website, www.CharleyOrlando.com. His playing has matured to the point that I swear I'm hearing multiple guitars but I know it's just him, doin' his thing (except for "Any Other Day" where he gets a little help with the bass.) Plain and simple, if you enjoy the likes of James Taylor, Eric Clapton and even Santana in a strange sort of way, then this is one for your collection.
