Charlie Morris is not your typical Blues rocker. Yes, there are red-hot solos on guitar, slide and organ. Yes, there are solid grooves to get your feet moving. But it's Charlie's original songs that set him apart. Rootsy, hook-based tunes with witty lyrics about the usual bluesy topics - drinking, gambling, cheating and other fun stuff. A few covers by the likes of Muddy Waters, Howlin Wolf and Ray Charles complete the mix.
Charlie has released 5 CDs on the BluesPages label, and regularly tours the Southeastern US and Europe.
Recent Comments:
“Tasty guitar, pleasantly relaxed vocal, good entertainer, fun songs.”
- Bruce Iglauer, CEO of Alligator Records
“Charlie writes like a man who has been down the road more than a few times.”
- Music writer and DJ Norman Davis
“Mr. Morris has the sound that I love. He knows how to pick a guitar and make it sing. There is that down-home blues/rock and roll quality about his songs that makes my feet begin tapping as soon as he hits the first note. In concert, he and the band have that funky tightness that might remind you of bands like Little Feat. “
- Bonds Big Leather Couch Blog
“The Charlie Morris Band is fantastic!”
- Wayne Winkler, WETS, Johnson City TN
“This is a lot of fun!”
- Derral, KCHO, Reading CA

Charlie delivers his best one yet!
author: Alan
Charlie Morris is a Blues artist from the Tampa Bay area, but he seems to spend most of his time on the road these days. As I understand it, he splits his time between Florida, Tennessee and Switzerland.
Topical subject matter with plenty of references to gambling, drinking and womanizing, burning guitar and keyboard riffs and a popping rhythm section all comprise the ingredients for a fantastic Blues record. This is Charlie’s fifth CD and in my opinion, his best one yet. Perhaps it is the maturity that comes with playing as a traveling Blues artist for so many years, or maybe it is the combination of great songs and a really tight band, but whatever it is, Charlie really delivered the goods this time. Charlie continues to showcase his guitar playing prowess as well as his ability to write and sing some very clever lyrics. From the slide-driven “Got Greedy,” about our relentless thirst for oil to the zany “That’s What She Said,” that is sure to bring a smile, this CD is a welcome addition to any Blues fan’s album collection.
