It might be a good idea to be sitting down when you take this one for a spin in the player. Living up to their name with a cosmic explosion of the stars and sky, Portland, Oregon's Charmparticles goes head first into intergalactic travel, weaving through spacey ambiance, melodic hooks, sweet, seducing vocals and rough-edged guitar rock. It is space-gazer rock for those that are tired of looking at their feet while a mundane band lulls them to sleep.

author: Brian Maselli
If CDs were cassettes, this one would have been a hissing mess of tangled, brown analog long ago. Why? It would have been so lovingly listened to--and so frequently--that a buzzy lump of plastic would be, could be, all that remained. Thank God for digital media! This is a fantastic EP, reminiscent of the best confections of "major" label popsters like The Anniversary but still invested with its own unique brand of indie infectiousness. And, oh, those hooks and harmonies! All of this should, in a perfect world, send Charmparticles skipping across the surface of popular radio like a well hurled stone. Expect big things.

Awesome debut!

Not only are the vocal skills of both Adam Wayne and Pamela Rooney way above most of what passes for modern rock music, the lyrics are thoughtfully poetic and beautiful. The guitars are also vibrant with refreshing new chord progressions. I can't stop listening to this album and I'm eagerly awaiting the full release. Be sure to check out www.charmparticticles.com for the latest news on this great up and coming band.
