A cosmic explosion of the stars and sky, Portland, Oregon's Charmparticles go head first into intergalactic travel, weaving through spacey ambiance, melodic hooks, sweet, seducing vocals and rough-edged guitar rock.
It is space-gazer rock for those that are tired of looking at their feet while a mundane band lulls them to sleep.
Instead, Charmparticles make you look up at the sky as you think about what else is out there.
Fronted by Adam Wayne (vocals/guitar) and Pamela Rooney (vocals/bass), the duo that fronted the violin-laden indie-pop band Drive are back working together following Adam Wayne's stint with Portland pop-rock outfit The Bella Fayes.
Accompanying them is John J. Adams on drums and Sarah FitzGerald on rhythm guitar.
Together the four-piece manages to walk the line between Rooney's melodic indie-pop gone space-rock and Wayne's subtle, yet rocking moments of clarity and hook-driven rock.
Currently working on their debut full-length, they rushed the Portland studio Are You Listening to record this 4-song EP.
The band has pressed up a limited number of the EPs, each hand numbered and hand packaged.

elegance and beauty...

Having the privilege to play with this band, i've come to the realization that music can still be made with such elegance and beauty. I can't wait for the next CD.

It might be a good idea to be sitting down when you take this one for a spin in the player. Hooray for hooks!
author: Brian Maselli
If CDs were cassettes, this one would have been a hissing mess of tangled, brown analog long ago. Why? It would have been so lovingly listened to--and so frequently--that a buzzy lump of plastic would be, could be, all that remained. Thank God for digital media! This is a fantastic EP, reminiscent of the best confections of "major" label popsters like The Anniversary but still invested with its own unique brand of indie infectiousness. And, oh, those hooks and harmonies! All of this should, in a perfect world, send Charmparticles skipping across the surface of popular radio like a well hurled stone. Expect big things.

Awesome debut!
author: Nick
Not only are the vocal skills of both Adam Wayne and Pamela Rooney way above most of what passes for modern rock music, the lyrics are thoughtfully poetic and beautiful. The guitars are also vibrant with refreshing new chord progressions. I can't stop listening to this album and I'm eagerly awaiting the full release. Be sure to check out www.charmparticticles.com for the latest news on this great up and coming band.
