The Chazz Cats were among the earliest of the San Francisco Bay Area swing revivalists. The Chazz Cats played a unique brand of Jumpin Jazz & Roadhouse Swing throughout Northern California. Led by the sultry vocals of Delilah Monroe and the explosive saxophone of Greg Laakso, the Chazz Cats perform swing, jump and blues tunes from the 20's, 30's and 40's. The acoustic-based sound of the Chazz Cats is provided by Chazz Casey on guitar and Silverstring Ted Silverman on mandolin, with Doctor Don Ward on drums and Tom Drohan on stand-up bass rounding out the rhythm section.
The Chazz Cats' repertoire consists of material by great Swing Era artists such as Duke Ellington, Louie Jordan, Fats Waller and Benny Goodman, as well as songs originally made popular by Ella Fitzgerald, Louie Prima, Billie Holiday, and Peggy Lee. The sound is hot, and the band can really swing. The Chazz Cats were regular crowd-pleasers at San Francisco's Cafe du Nord, the HiBall Lounge and the Deluxe, as well as the Derby in LA.
The first CD "Roadhouse Swing" features the Cats' playing some of their most popular material. Special guests such as Joe Craven from the David Grisman Quintet, Bryan Gould from Swing Fever and Winky the Tinkler from the Blue Room Boys help to round out the sound.

This is a very good CD for dancing Lindy Hop or Boogie-woogie.
