Some call Chazz Dixon "the modern day Smokey Robinson" because his velvet high pitched voice is so sensual. He, however, refers to himself as "the kid next door". Well let me know what neighborhood so I can move in.

Weather he's singing an ol' soul jam, classic Motown gold or something original from the folks at Da' Soul, one things for sure, Chazz Dixon does have "one of sexiest voices on the planet". Listen for yourself as he croons GIRL ARE YOU READY, a Blue Magic influenced ballad or moans DREAMIN'S OUT OF SEASON on this cd, his latest release on Da' Soul Recordings. And if that isn't enough, and it won't be, check out Chazz's WISHLIST it will make you crave for MORE, MORE, MORE and SHAKE YO' BUTT for sure. But ok, enough of my sophomore play on the titles. The music here is totally "the mature groove" Da' Soul is becoming known for.

For those of you who loved his last cd, Hitsville: The House That Berry Built, Chazz and his producer J, have also included MALINDA. This song originally charted on Bobby Taylor & the Vancouver's and was written by Motown writer's Terry Johnson, Al Cleveland and Smokey Robinson.

I'm so glad I got my copy first. Thank you "J" and Chazz. And thank you Da' Soul Recordings for making SOUL (the mature groove) happen again.

Ps - FYI for Chazz fans, J has informed me that HITSVILLE 2 is now finished. No release date as of yet but I can tell all of you that the two songs I heard were off the hook. The men at Da' Soul are cooking up some serious soul and that includes a mystery cd for Northern Soul & Soulful Detroit (UK) fans. Don't know much more than that right now.
