Album Notes

About Chelo Aestrid:

Her muse-ic in this album is about the "Light" and how she finds delight in His two best creations: Life and Love. Her songs are mainly produced by the Hip-hop powerhouse, Q-York Edutainment/Muse-ic Production and distributed by Homeworkz / Universal Records Philippines. Her first single, “Pinays Rise” is continuously rising in the Myx Music & Channel V countdowns. Her second single with R&B Prince JayR and Q-York called "Connection" will be released in mid-June 2011 with another stunning video directed by Treb Monteras. She was part of the songs “Mainit“, which won Video of the Year at the 2010 Urban Music Awards and "Time to Shine", advocating an end to poverty for Gawad Kalinga.

Chelo was born in Cebu, grew up in Los Angeles, graduated in London, and resides in Manila. She has been performing and training since she was six. In 2001, she left a promising career in Architecture School in the US to pursue performing in the Philippines. She released a solo album under Ivory Records entitled, “Nice to Meet You”. Since then, she has built up a long entertainment resume and has experience in everything from singing, acting, dancing, modeling, creating choreography, song-writing, hosting, and teaching Hip-hop dance.

In 2003, she was signed with Universal Records Philippines & GMA with the group Flavours. In 2004, she was in the movie called, “Panagho’y Sa Suba”. She also song-wrote and choreographed for her other groups T.F.L. and HAYLO. From 2005 (shortly) and 2007-10, she danced with the Philippine Allstars. Among many titles, they have won the 2009 Malta Guiness Streetdance Championships in Africa, and the World Hip-hop Dance Championships in 2008 in the US.

In 2006 in London, she received a First Honours Bachelors Degree in Business Administration. After taking care of the Allstars merchandise and having experience in retail, Chelo also co-founded and is President of “Capital G Shop“, which supports and sells ‘Homegrown Apparel and Arts’. It will open its first big branch in Robinsons Galleria in Manila in July 2011.

Her main influences in music are: James Brown, Lauryn Hill, Janet Jackson, Mariah Carey, and Gary Valenciano. For more information on Chelo A., please LIKE the Fan Page: facebook.com/aestridchelo.
