Born March 16, 1995 at Brantford General, Chelsey was raised in Vanessa, Ontario. Growing up on the family farm, she has learned at a young age that hard work and dedication are a way of life... qualities that this young artist brings to her writing and recording skills! Her influences include Taylor Swift, Keith Urban, Lady Antebellum, The Band Perry and her mentor – TIA MCGRAFF
From the first time she hit the stage at the Norfolk Musical Arts Festival at the age of 10, her immediate family has been her biggest support and continue to inspire her to move forward with her music and follow her passion.
One of her biggest obsessions, as with most teenage girls, is her mascara! Chelsey’s perfect day is spent singing and riding roller coasters at an amusement park – in her words – “I absolutely love rides and the thrill of them”. Chelsey’s interests outside of music include cheerleading along with 4 wheeling, swimming, shopping, watching scary movies and hikes in the woods. Her favourite songs to sing (first and foremost) are her new songs set to release in 2012 along with American Honey by Lady Antebellum and Mean by Taylor Swift – actually anything by Taylor Swift! One of the most exciting things about recording her new album, I AM! , was being able to record in Nashville with some of the industry’s “A” session players, joining her in the studio for this project. “The whole ambience of recording in Nashville was magical and a dream come true” is how Chelsey has described her first album release! Chelsey’s aspiration for the future is for her music to be heard by all, to inspire them when they hear it, and for people to relate to her music and stories that are told in her songs. Chelsey is excited and ready for the biggest thrill and ride of her life!
