ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Cherry2000 formed early in 2003 in Sydney, Australia, when an electronic dance producer, Rantzen, and an avant garde performance and installation artist, Rachael Chaos, collaborated on a burlesque theatre piece and, as an encore, gave birth to the electronic futurist bastard child of rock that is Cherry2000.

At last, the truly base in rock and roll is reborn into the the 21st century by the least subtle musicans on earth. Fired up by the Plasmatics, L7, the Ramones, AC/DC, Joan Jett, the New York Dolls, Venom, the Thought Criminals and Judas Priest, they kept all the small rules and broke the big one clean over one knee. You are very lucky indeed to be alive right now.

Rachael Chaos is a six foot tall, red-headed bull in a china shop. She leaps across the stage eating fire, spitting beer and showering the audience with friendly abuse (in Australia, fuckwit is a term of endearment). Rantzen is catatonic and deaf, presiding over a stack of rusty synthesizer modules and mobilising a dalek army of heavy booted, jack-riffing swamp-robots: a machine-age Motorhead fronted by a female Bon Scott.

Cherry2000 has recorded two cranking, furious electro-metal rock albums, 'Kidnapped In L.A' (2004, Ear Pimp / MGM and 'Criminal Damage' (2005, Electricult Records / MGM).

They are recording their third album, 'The Dead Ride Hard', even as you read these words. They will never disappoint their fans. They will continue to channel all that is dark, dirty, slutty and sleazy into the future of power electronics. 'The Dead Ride Hard' will be a blazing hellfire of a juggernaut speedball into the moribund arteries of punk metal. It is time.
