notes
A dynamic and extremely popular bandleader, keyboardist, song stylist and 'Goddess' of the blues presents her 2nd CD on the CHICKENBUTT label.
Cheryl grew up in Cincinnati listening to and performing R&B and Rock&Roll. After high school, she took her musical talents on the road with a variety of groups. For 11 years she lived out of a suitcase in hotels across the country and around the globe ~ performing in Las Vegas and U.S.O. shows in Europe and Asia. When she found herself "stuck" in New Hampshire she discovered the blues. Cheryl decided to stay there and discovered and played the blues all over New England (including the Boston blues scene) for over ten years.
Now in Knoxville TN, Cheryl has found plenty of venues there to showcase her talents. She was one of the divas featured in the Knoxville Ladies Sing The Blues at the Bijou in '99 and 2002. She sat in for an ailing Ann Rabson when the Uppity Blues Women came to town, and Cheryl Renee's Blues Band has opened up for lots of the "big guys" that have come through Knoxville.
I BELIEVE YOU KNOW THE BLUES contains 5 songs from her 1st CD (unavailable)featuring THE RENEE-RANDALL BLUES BAND from New England and 5 songs from the Tennessee based CHERYL RENEE's BLUES BAND.
---------
Cheryl Renee is a meteorite, no doubt about it. She burns with a fiery intensity, she glows red hot, and she devastates all in her path.

Enjoyable
author: PaulI played bass on this CD... the "Knoxville Recordings" part and I had such an enjoyable experience helping to make this CD. I still listen to it often and groove to it. Thanks Cheryl
GREAT!
author: Bob JohnsonGREAT< rocking blues!!! Loved it :)
Great mixture of blues music.
author: Mark BuntonThis disc contains a great mixture of blues material from two versions of the Cherly Renee band, both of which are excellent. I prefer the Knoxville based group recordings, as I feel that they have a better sound quality (sounds a little more raw). The best track has got to be Tramp. The combination of the band's groove & the humorous vocals from Cheryl make it a track to remember. Can't wait for the next release.
Credit where credit is due! (... but we STILL take cash! heheee)
author: Paige 5A fresh take on an old style, with sugar (only where necessary) and all the spice you can handle! Buy this recording and buy it NOW ... then drive around and listen to it! You'll be glad you did!
You rock renee. You make me want to sing blues instead of country.
