Cheryl Hodge released her second C.D., titled "Strings, Necks and C(h)ords" after working for a few years with gifted guitarist John Stowell (out of Portland, Or.), and guitarist Kevin Lutke (out of New York. This album of original and eclectic jazz features guitarists John Stowell and Kevin Lutke, as well as Dave Captein & Brian Flick on bass, and Israel Annoh on percussion. This C.D., once released in the summer of '99, resulted in much acclaim from fans and deejays across North America; who hailed Hodge for her sense of experimentation.
Cheryl Hodge is also the author of a vocalist's manual entitled "A Singer's Guide to the Well-Trained and Powerful Voice".
With over 20 years of playing with the finest jazz musicians in the U.S. & Canada, Cheryl has certainly made her mark. Hodge is a gifted pianist and isn't afraid to visit the outer stretches of "scatting" territory. Some years ago, she graduated with a degree from Berklee College of Music, in Boston where she taught vocals to such well known performers as Paula Cole (top ten, pop), Lavinia Hudson (top ten, gospel), and Kyle Gordon (famous studio vocalist). Since then, she has recorded her vocals on several labels; including Warner Brothers and Atco Records Raindogs '90 release (all backing vocals). She has sung on hundreds of commercials and several movie releases.
