Album Notes

In Chris Chesney's own unbiased opinion this is his best album yet.... Chris's 4th solo effort finds him flexing the song-writing muscle and expanding the horizons of the form, looking for a more experimental starting point for each song. The title and the chorus line drive the song's intent and from there the narrative finds its own way.... referring to events both real and imaginary..... Production values have never been higher, but we think the emotional grit still remains. Some tracks live as possible theme tunes to an as-yet-unmade tv cop drama, others sit as rock classic of the near future.... creating their own genre ... you'll detect resonances and influences - Steve Winwood, Prince, Jeff Beck, Bowie, the Stones, Green Gartside, Lalo Schiffren and so on...... as ever the guitar usually sits at the heart of things.....

Chris is a seasoned veteran of British Rock. He has also spent time in America, both East and West. His love of American music (whether roots or contemporary urban - from Aerosmith to the Neville Brothers) is a recurring theme, and these influences are all over the record.

In the past, Chris has played with Freddie Mercury, Billy idol, Mandrake Memorial (featuring Randy Monaco), Ben E King, Percy Sledge, Eddie Floyd, Dorothy Moore, The Sadista Sisters, the legendary Twink of the Pink Fairies, The Flirtations, sessioned with Nicky Hopkins of Rolling Stones fame, and shared the bill with many more illustrious names from the pages of rock 'n' roll history..... Fuller biographical detail to be found on the website (see below for address) - do come and visit!!

All this experience he brings to bear on every album he produces, and each project is its own unique experiment. So expect this to differ greatly from the last and probably from what is to come. Above all he hopes this will bring you pleasure.... so enjoy!!

A CD Full of Catchy, Enjoyable Tracks
author: William and the RadioIndy.com Reviewer Team
Chris Chesney brings his veteran cross genre skills to the table in his album "Easy Street." The overall sound is reminiscent of those fun, feel good songs of the early 80's. Chris' lyrics are fun and his guitar-playing and songwriting are impressive. The arrangements are jazzy / bluesy in a bubbly sort of way and there's a lot of instrumentation and professional production in these tracks, to add a nice depth to the recording. There is also a cool mix of modern dance music thrown in as well. Finally, the female vocals are a nice complement to Chris's effective, raspy vocals. Highlights are "Cool Water," which starts out with a long, sexy instrumental segment that builds into a strong, sexy groove that nicely matches the lyrical theme of the song. "Time is Running Out" is another parcticularly noteworthy track with a brief synthesizer intro that builds into a full groove and a memorable chorus with strong female backing vocals and keyboard counter part. If you are a fan of catchy songs with a strong groove, that cross rock, pop, and even R&B, you'll enjoy this CD.

Easy Street
author: Matt Angello
Chris Chesney's artistic tour de force combining funky rhythm with smooth vocal and screaming guitar riffs. As a lifelong fan, I can confidently assert this as his best work ever and lament the lack of a global audience.
