Album Notes

they ain't all drankin' songs... well, most of 'em involve the spirits a wee bit... harken's all the way back to richard murrey's college days (the student i.d. on the cover)... hungover wasn't the word that day! sheesh! man, out rockin' and rollin' and partying all night long, hadn't slept, forgot about the appointment to get i.d.'s done... hitched up to campus with another partyanimal... we're still polluted and they say "smile for the camera... say cheese"... and i about hurled, they snapped just as i was about to belch and pass out! beautiful moment, eh? i digress... a collection of murrey-penned tunes touching on a variety of subject matters, all lovingly scooped into a blender with ice, shaken and topped off with a splash of vermouth and a rim twist of lime! yum. steven cooper produces.

"next to last call"... true story... while sitting at whiskey creek saloon in bishop, california... knocking back patron tequila shots with my bud, roy hood... closing time crept upon us! so fran (fran-swah) our favorite tarbender, er, bartender annouced to us it was "last call"! in a moment of clarified sauza epiphany, i yelled out, "don't you mean next to last call?" of course history was made.

"6 string shooter"... bayou blues player emerges from a thunderstorm and kicks it up a notch at a little backwater bar.

"i thought i knew love"... just when you think you've got love all figured out... something throws you a twist... like the teacher becomes the student.

"come to my senses"... how lost you can be to the world and everything around you when your love isn't there.

"don't call me your cowboy"... two worlds come together... each with a different agenda... perhaps the heart can overcome the differences?

"where do you get your lovin'"... guy wants girl... girl doesn't know guy... guy asks simple question... deserves a simple answer.

"double-wide paradise"... written long before the toby keith song, this one explores the reasons why some folks love to be away from it all.

"it's time"... after a period of healing, we get the notion, it's time to try love on again!

"i'm this way naturally"... what of the human ego. is it all that? some superstars seem to think so.

"your 2 timing"... making lemonade from lemons... turning a bad situation around and putting positive steps in your life.

"searching for a way"... how to impress the lady... just keep trying... there's got to be a way.
