this cd is by request. it has been rumored that richard murrey didn't really care about doing "the blues"! why? well, he knows there's some awesome blues on the spacecoast. some strong players and deep grooves of blueness, so richard and the chevy fords gravitated towards more of a solid, straight on rock style. a few earlier examples of the blues crept in on previous projects and everytime they were played out, they got a rousing response and requests to continue "da blooze". why peoples was tossing babies in the air and yelling fer more. richard took all of this to heart and looked inside the soul where he's lived and played the "blooze" most of his life and so this collection found it's way to the studio and completion. just hope other bluesmen will find "blueness" in this... relate and groove on it. hope this will be the medicine lotza folks need to get by. once again, produced by steven cooper. wutz on the platter: "nightcandy"... yeah, when a womanz wantz her manz, he finds a way to get to her and make everything jest fine. "lord oh lord"... ever have one of those vivid dream/visions of things to come... and you get religion real fast? worked for me. "little bit jumpy"... you've seen the gal out in the crowd... the one that's really into the groove and the song? she be bouncin' all over the place. what performing is all about. "her felony"... grand theft romance... you can lose your heart. "don't need the blues"... the blues is what teaches you when you don't have to need the blues. huh? "guardian angel"... their job ain't so "all that"... they have problems too... and a woman can make eternal life a pain in the haloed tushy. "red & white blues"... what the hell done happened to our world status and our flag? we need to be addressing this issue real quick. "more than the blues"... some folks get physical... and they like it. "only spirit i know"... interesting comparison of fine whiskey to spiritual matters... perhaps it's all semantics? "shot down"... she put up a curtain of triple a on yo ass and it's mayday brother!
