richard murrey put together a local, spacecoast, brevard county version of the chevy ford band with two of the area's finest musicians, dave evans and phil brewer. this incarnation of the chevy ford band would be far different from the complexities of the nashville band. this band played out live, played heavy with minimalistic styles, straight ahead rock and roll. the 3 piece played lounges and bars with tons of cover tunes, but they did squeeze out 10 originals within their first year playing out. these recordings are rare, live and mixed to be played loud, so crank it up and enjoy. it's possible this combo could put it all back together depending on what murrey's chevy ford band does next. here's what's on the platter...
"high on toad"... as it is out west in the desert, the chase for the elusive little psychedelic secreting toad is always a game on. dave evans came up wih the riff structure, murrey on the bass run, phil brewer added his creativity on the skins to murrey's lyrics.
"let's eat the aliens"... as the title implies, it's best to taste them before they grow tired of hormone soup and decide to consume us!
"big parts"... oh, the problems associated with having been given a large "package"!
"are you fixed"... we actually don't know what the hell this song means, but it rocks!
"burns when i pee"... it's a social thing, but at least there's interaction! dave evans came up wih the riff structure, murrey on the bass run, phil brewer added his creativity on the skins to murrey's lyrics.
"i love bushy pits"... there's always something different that turns certain guys on.
"wet gurls"... you know them... you see them on the beach, at the pools... they love the moisture.
"heavy with child"... just because a gal is carrying the "motherload", she still has feelings right? dave evans came up wih the music, murrey and phil added what they could.
"all i got in paris was the rash"... it's the one thing about being a tourist and not completely understanding the cultural signs.
"we luv cooter"... kinda says it all about rock and roll. dave evans came up wih the music, murrey and phil added what they could.
this florida version of the chevy ford band is:
dave evans - guitar and vocals
phil brewer - drums
richard murrey - bass
