Hey, it's real old time music... get dancing.

We got some reviews in Dirty Linen and, now, Bluegrass Unlimited.... "The Chicken Chokers are an old-time string band that was active throughout the 1980s with their own brand of Appalachian-inspired music. They recorded a pair of albums for Rounder Records before branching out into other musical directions. This release marks the reunion of the Chicken Chokers and establishes they still have the drive and enthusiasm marked by their earlier performances. The 11 selections are public domain pieces like "Billy Wilson," "Ruben's Train," "New River Train," and "Diamond Joe." Of special note are their energetic renditions of "Jordan Is A Hard Road To Travel" and "She's Got The Money Too." The Chicken Chokers have reemerged during a period when old-time string band music is gaining in popularity, and they will be important influences in that musical genre.
