Being the youngest of five children his mother struggled to give them the best life she knew how. My story is similar to many, but very unique in its own way, after writing his first rhyme at the age of seven he had no idea it would help him deal with the changes in his life. As his skills progressed he noticed that there was something missing, no direction for his lyrical ability to go. Anybody could freestyle but what about putting together an album and having a big fan base was the true meaning of success in his eyes. To do this he saved every dollar he had and got on a plane and relocated to Germany, where his older brother resided. This was no easy transition for the young and impressionable teenager, but his confidence, and drive for some kind of success lead to several opportunities in Germany. After networking all across the country he finally got the attention he needed at Bellaphon Records. The company was interested in doing a project with Chief, but his mother who was now living in Virginia, became very ill. Chief had no choice but to leave Germany to be at his mothers side. He never thought of it as a misfortune, but a blessing to be where he was needed. The south embraced his style of wrap and the traditional dirty bounce was unveiled to his delivery. After his mother's health improved, she encouraged him to go after his goal in music. His debut album NV-N-Greed then became his primary focus, and the rest is history. "I'm on the verge to let people know that you don't have the illest cat on the block to make it, look at me the underdog of the industry."
