Album Notes

This album was originally recoreded in 1988, and features the late, great, Rick Danko on the title track, along with the Buddy Cage (Blood on the Tracks) playing pedal steel guitar. Paul Geremia, an old friend of Tony's, does a wonderful job on blues harp on a couple of the tunes. Although Paul is primarily known for his incredible acoustic blues guitar playing, you won't believe him on harp on these cuts. He sounds great! When the album came out, it was in vinyl and cassette only, though it was mastered for CD. The finished mastered product just sat there for the last 17 yrs., and has just been released for sale on CD. Everyone that has heard it agrees that the mastering for CD brought out things that weren't heard on the vinyl or cassette. The CD features 6 original songs written by lead guitarist Tony Medeiros, as well as 4 classic blues tunes. Tony traveled and worked a lot of gigs with Rick in the 80's and 90's, and was really happy to have this album come out in CD format. "Rick sounded soulful on this. He was such a talented musician. It was an honor to have him singing one the original tunes, and working with him, but most of all, just having him for a friend. What a great guy, and oh, so missed." If you want to hear some R & B, with lyrics saying more than "My Baby Left Me", here you go, The Chili Brother's, Empty Bottles.

Great original songs, great guitar lix, great vocals. Rick Danko will break your heart on the title song. I got a bunch and gave them to my friends--everybody loves this CD, so will you.

These guys were one hell of a band ! Really good musicians who were full of soul and not themselves, they were so damned good to see live! This CD shows you why this part of the country was such a hotbed for music. I miss this band and this music!

It is so nice to hear the richness of these musicians after all these years ~ I also fondly remember Nero's Fiddle and nights in Newport, RI

Even though it was my admiration for Rick Danko that led me to purchase this CD, it's the great music of the Chili Brothers that keeps me listening! Rick is just wonderful on the title track but there is much more here than his performance alone to recommend this CD! If you're a fan of the Chilis, you probably already own this - if you haven't heard them before, this is a chance you can't pass up!
