Interresting guitar improvisation
author: Torben
The numbers on this CD are improvisations over a number of simple grooves, using a guitar with a lot of fuzz and backed by bass and drums. The grooves, the sound, the backing, and most of the guitar work is quite good; but one thing is missing: Variation. All songs have the exact same sound on all instruments. All start with some repetitions of the groove, then the guitar graduately adds variations until the groove is no longer present, then returns to the groove again. Some variation in sound and style would be welcome. Also, rather than improvising the hole thing, some coordinated changes (breaks/bridges/etc) would be nice. The first track (which is the only one made entirely by CP) has a better groove and more nerve than the rest. With a set of self composed tracks, a couple of new guitar pedals, and using the bass and drums for more than just backing, I think they could go much further.
