Album Notes

The Fossil Dungeon presents the debut CD from this Italian trio performing beautiful and romantic neo-folk music. Hailing from the Mediterranean island of Sardinia, CHIRLEISON represent the spirit of ancient Italy while introducing a rich ethereal sound captured by the heavenly voice of Alessia and the atmospheric keyboards of Mara. The sound of CHIRLEISON is suited against a lush backdrop of melancholic acoustic guitars performed by Daniele. Presented in a multi-panel digipak featuring cover photography by Martin Pels. Mastered by Barry Galvin of Mephisto Walz.

Wonderfully dark yet ethereal music of darkest nights : )
author: Rowan
This is great for lovers of dark, goth-y music that is more ethereal than hard-core. It's also fantastic for those nights in Fall and Winter where you light candles and enjoy the otherworldly hours! Anything from Fossil Dungeon will appeal to the dreampop/spooky music crowd, but this one especially is fantastic. lovely...

Lovely neo-medieval Italian folk music
author: Brian
Melodic songwriting, gorgeous vocals and tasteful instrumental backing make this one a winner. Acoustic guitar and flute keep it grounded in tradition, while NON-cheesy electronic keyboards (mostly emulating classical strings and woodwinds) and skillfully programmed electronic percussion fill out the arrangements nicely. This will certainly appeal to fans of the ethereal/darkwave genre, but it does NOT wallow in Gothic doom and gloom. There are a couple of melancholy pieces, but most of the songs are midtempo and uplifting. Recording quality is very good, and the cover design is superb (though a bit more Gothic than the music itself). Kudos to Fossil Dungeon for another beautiful production.
