Even if...
author: Mike "the Animal" Manhoff
Even if i hadn't performed on this album, i would promote the hell out of it...this is a compilation cd of the best of the major players, in the Chicago reggae circuit...just to mention a few: the late, Clive "Wimpy" Mc Farland, of Dub Dis, a keyboard player with the kindest of hearts...the booming voice of Aswah Gregory ("Who's on the Lord's side?" on the intro to "Jah a the roots")...Abdul's percussive skill on the lead guitar, Rocket's (Gizzae) voice on "Run Around Girl", Andrea's silky voice on "It's o.k."...omg...just listen to the arrangements, including my first crack at arranging (mine, except for the horns, again, Kenny Anderson's domain) and the rappers on "Marathon"...i was only brought in as a bit player, contracted to play one song...Jah A The Roots...the triple guitar harmony- mine...while a great many incedible musicians assisted us on this labor of love, this cd stands as a testament to the musical genius of Errol "Big Red" Aiken, our producer...check out Frankie Paul's "A tribute to Dennis Brown"...this is another of Big red's productions, that i feel fortunate to have had a hand in the completion of ...keep an ear in this direction...we aim to both please, and surprise you...peace Mike "the Animal" Manhoff

Loved it. Great singer and instrumentals. Roots music.
author: Lois Schneider
Bought CD after Seabreeze Festival. Rasta assured it was good. He told the truth. A great find! Loved the voice and arrangements. Different instrumentals. Good mix. Would like to know more about artists. Lois Schneider, Long Beach, CA irielady@hotmail.com
