Album Notes

CHOKLATE is the dynamic Seattle-based singer/songwriter taking the music world by storm. The summer of 2006 was the start of something BIG! CHOKLATE released her highly acclaimed self-titled debut featuring production by Seattle's finest producers: Vitamin D, Bean One, Jake One, Kuddie Mak, Jay Townsend and Amos Miller. Being the prolific songwriter that she is, CHOKLATE wrote and vocally arranged all of the songs on her album. Not long after her release CHOKLATE hit the promotional road and made promotional appearances in NYC at ONUTSS and Nouveasoundz hosted listening parties. She introduced herself to radio and retail and made special appearances at music lifestyle events in NYC, D.C., VA, Philly and Baltimore. Upon returning home to Seattle from her promo tour CHOKLATE was nominated for a SoulTracks award (www.soultracks.com) for 'Female Vocalist of The Year' and she won a HoneySoul Best Of 2006 Award (www.honeysoul.com) for her self-titled debut album. HoneySoul voted 'Choklate' one of its 6 best soul albums of 2006.

By March 2007 CHOKLATE was booked and hitting the road again to headline her very first concert tour. CHOKLATE's 'Hustle Hard Tour' quickly became the most anticipated indie tour in the Spring of 2007. The tour reached Atlanta, VA, NYC, D.C., Boston and 2 sold out finale shows in her hometown of Seattle. In September 2007 CHOKLATE was nominated for and was announced as the proud winner of the AGAPE' Indie Artist Award (www.agapeindieartistawards.com) for Female R&B/Soul Artist Of The Year. By the end of 2007 CHOKLATE was featured and interviewed live on the Michael Baisden Radio Show (www.michaelbaisden.com) and was named the B-Side Artist for November 16, 2007. CHOKLATE's music and interview reached 12 million listeners that day and her music has since been added to regular rotation on the TV One presented Michael Baisden Show.

As we begin a new year and a new chapter we eagerly await the release of CHOKLATE's sophomore album (currently untitled but due to reach us by Spring/Summer 2009). As a new artist CHOKLATE tore down barriers, made leaps and bounds and overcame industry odds while never compromising her music or integrity.

I'm writing a review and haven't even recieved the album yet! But from what I've heard of Choklate I know I will not be dissappointed. She has smooth vocals and great lyrical ability. I had to stop listening to the samples and buy the album. So Incredible!

You are Incredible!

Choklate is like a breath of fresh air to the industry that is full jam packed full of wannabes and phony popcorn artists. She really represents the 206 with much love and respect! She is truly original and phenomenal. I just wish Reach for the Moon was on this cd, that would have made my collection complete! Definitely a must have for anyone who loves real music! Thanks for all the great music!
