"As a composer and producer, I know that the music I compose will take on additional and unexpected meaning and affect listeners in ways I could not have imagined at the time of its creation. This ten-track suite entitled Saints & Devils - mastered just two weeks before hurricane Katrina hit the U.S. gulf coast - is a good example of this. It is my hope that Saints & Devils - as a listening experience - honors the victims of this contemporary disaster and resonates in our collective consciousness to bring about a better future." - Chris Becker (2006)

Delighted with the New Orleans-grounded music. Having lived in N.O., the music is not only current pleasure, but nostalgic shadows.

The deepest blues experience of the year!

I remember watching the movie “Oh Brother, Where Art Thou?” and reading Robert Palmer’s “Deep Blues” for the first time… These were important experiences for me. “Saints & Devils” CD brought those feelings back to me. It’s something much more than just an album with music, it’s a listening experience that takes the listener on a journey through American South bringing to mind archetypical images of bluesmen dealing with the devil and salvation. I listened to it with my headphones on, sitting on a sofa in a dark room and it was unbelievable. I get through many new CDs each week but Chris Becker’s “Saints & Devils” is special. If you want to feel the same thing Robert Johnson might have felt while standing on the crossroad get this album and enjoy the deepest blues experience of the year.
