"Love, Hope, Faith" (produced by consummate session and touring drummer Mark Schulman: Pink, Velvet Revolver, Foreigner, Simple Minds, Billy Idol, Stevie Nicks and Cher) is a passionate coming of age journey of reflection from youth through adulthood.

When he was not performing as the lead guitarist with GRAMMY nominated folk rockers We Five (1960’s San Francisco Sound mega hits "You Were On My Mind" and "Let's Get Together") Chris found the time to put together this finely crafted “Acoustic Rock, Power Pop” cross section.

“The CD is recorded in a way that reflects on my thoughts from high school to today” states Burgan. “I wanted to acknowledge how all the parts of my musical influences have blended together into a comprehensive whole.”

The opening track “Run To Mama” (which gets heavy rotation at Los Angeles Dodgers baseball home games) drips with youthful swagger. As the music unfolds, so do the complications of growing up. “Love, Hope, Faith” wrestles with age old questions about loss and suffering, “Love Walks In The Room” recalls the moment when being alone would be over, and “Into Wine” lets us know that being good enough for some… simply isn’t.

Reflecting on the past also inspired Chris to put a new spin on some album cut favorites from his youth. The Elton John piano tune “Pinky” (off of the 1970’s Caribou album) has been rethought as an acoustic guitar song. Likewise, there is a hauntingly beautiful interpretation of the Whackers song “White House.”

The CD closes out with a nod to former band mates 541 Baseline. “Know” catapults the listener right back to the sounds of Chris’ rock and roll beginnings.

Whether you were a child of the 60’s, or still in high school today, Chris has managed to speak to the common consciousness and scratch an itch that few can reach.
