In 2001 a Baltic blue Squire Strat was half paid for, half birthday present, for Chris Dollar. Almost completely self taught, he played everyday and broke his first string incidentally only a few months into learning. Those of you who are fans of Chris understand that this is a recurring trend. Chris took a turn from the electric sound and a five piece garage band to a solo acoustic sound. He purchased a used Yamaha where the case was more expensive than the guitar. The aptly named "my weighted bat" served him proudly as he composed his first presentable song "Attempt 17" on it. Since then, with motivating friends, and motivation from women, he continued writing songs and performing crowd pleasers. As a former member of The Outcome (RIP) and a current member of 2 Greasy Hogs & A Mandolin, he has had a wide variety of genres to play. Also, bands like Dispatch, Ben Folds, Guster, and Tally Hall give him a wide variety of influences to choose from.
In the summer of 2006 Nathan Altman, friend and now business partner, got fans and friends together, and they put together money by pre-selling CDs in the hopes of sending him to a recording studio to spread his music further than just Carmel, Indiana. Nathan and Chris raised enough money to record under Jerry Hall of MMC Studios. They are currently working on getting the CD printed in the next few months.
“Thanks to everyone who felt my music was worth investing in. The idea that my music is more than just something to listen to makes me incredibly excited. We are doing our best to get the CDs printed and mailed. Thank you once again.” -Chris Dollar-
