Album Notes

Simply Acoustic is proud to present Back To Brazil. A collection of Brazilian Jazz Classics from Jobim and Bonfa

The Inspiration

It was the summer of 1992 when I was touring in Oslo Norway that I would visit the harbor everyday. There on the back of a boat was a brilliant guitarist named Tom Lynn. He performed the music of Antonio Carlos Jobim, Luis Bonfa and others. I had heard the music countless times before but never in such a raw fashion. The music, broken down to just guitar was simply gorgeous.

It was at that point in my career that I converted to a nylon string classical guitar as my primary instrument. I became enamored with the idea of replicating the beautiful sounds that I heard emminating from the deck of
the boat on which he played.

The Music of Brazil is enchanting. The richness of the music never wears old. After 16 years of playing and perfecting this music, I am proud to share it with you.

This project is dedicated to the memory of Antonio Carlos Jobim and Luis Bonfa. Also to Tom Lynn wherever you may be.

Everyone should have this C.D! Recently, there was a period of time when I was feeling quite sad due to conditions in my life. But all this changes for me when I listen to this C.D. It gives me the chance to get totally away from whatever sad thoughts I might have and lose myself in this exciting, joy-filled music. I recommend it for any one who wants to be transported to a peaceful, happy place. This can affect your whole day!!
