Album Notes

It was 1976 when I became fully immersed into the music of John Denver. My step-brother Mike had every John Denver album to date and was an avid fan. Mike hated me messing with his albums and so I had to wait until he was at school or at work to sneak into the room and play his albums and his guitar over and over again until I finally mastered the songs. Little did I know at that time that this labor of love would translate in to a career in music. The final outcome was worth the risk I took trashing his albums by accidentally raking the needle across the surfaces. I thank the universe for giving Mike a busy enough schedule and enough reserve to not beat the life out of me for messing with his stuff. There is good that comes from all things and I know at least some of the good is that I can now in turn dedicate this CD to my step brother Mike for his…… shall we call it patience.

The music itself in this simple form, leaves the listener with the idea or impression of what these songs may have sounded like the first time John finished writing them and played them for his self. The songs need no elaborate production for their natural beauty to shine through. You will hear first hand just how solid these songs are in their base form. It is the sign of a great songwriter and a testament to the genius of John Denver. Enjoy!! Chris Foster
