Fresh piano smooth jazz
author: Markus Melcher
Yes, just 4 stars because this smooth jazz has habit to leave you a bit lost in all this too much notes fiddling like ideas, and sometimes don't really help you remember or focus on a simple melody or thematic, but it is supposed to be jazz anyway and not pop, and stays perfect for a good ambiants for some good evenings lunches without to have to listen carefully to all the details. So get all this richness exploded to your mindears, and for this"Timeless Word" album isn't missing of qualities. It is plenty with pretty and beautiful harmonies, and clever ideas, the main parts are piano and keyboards with some nice accoustic guitar, like saxophone parts, even a powerful brass arrangement that don't stay to much in the front. The melodies are very enjoyable and positiv style, good moods to kick you from a bad state. Sometimes some little "newage" feels with a lot of smartness. Reminds me strongly to the style of The Rippingtons, or Jeff Lorber, maybe because of this underlay electronic programmation style mainly for the rythmic part, but so meticulously done, that it can make you lightly flow without to much help. A really fine Smooth-jazz from Chris Geith. Thanks
