I originally started my band New Perspective in 1994 to fuse together the jazz I had studied in school with the R&B, funk and hip hop that I listened to growing up in Chicago. MY CURRENT goal for the band (and our recorded output) is simply to combine my experiences (which include my influences) with my enjoyment of making music for people in the present moment. We feel that our first album 'On the Verge', is a bold step towards that goal, and hopefully you will, too.

Thanks for reading, listening, and hopefully, buying. -CG

  • A good jazz recording!

On the verge is a great background and chill-out jazz CD. Chris Greene plays well...from slow mellow sax on the song Lonely Saturday Night to the wailing sax lines on Dragonfly and Mr. Congeniality and all points in between. The keyboard solos on Core of Vitality and Adamantium are pretty good too. My favorite song, Friday Rain, has a good balance between all band members and great solos. This CD isn’t earth-shattering, but is definitely a great jazz CD to own. Check out On the Verge, you'll enjoy it!
