ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Some people have God-given talent – their music seems to come from another place, effortlessly. Chris Harrell was blessed with this gift. Like so many soulful voices, hers was developed in the church, from enthusiastic worship anthems to heartbreakingly beautiful ballads about pain, love, and redemption that move entire crowds of people to tears. For Chris, art imitates life meaningfully through her lifelong battle with illness that nearly took her life. However, after a lifesaving operation and remarkable recovery, she emerged stronger than ever – physically, spiritually, mentally, and emotionally – ready to pursue her dream of recording an album. Under the direction of multiple Emmy-award-winning composer, producer, and musician, John Wineglass, and with the creative genius of producer, songwriter, and musician, Stephen Gause, driving the project, Chris flew to Nashville and recorded all 10 tracks of her debut album, “Waiting on the Words”.
The end result is a soulful, introspective, and hopeful collection of songs that speak to the challenges and triumphs life brings – all wrapped up in ridiculously catchy pop melodies and Chris sultry-smooth voice. Not your typical pop album – with typically brings track after track of the same beat with different words – each song displays a different side of Chris’s incredibly versatile range – both vocally and artistically.
