About Chris

Chris McDermott has released five studio CD's in the past. He has toured with some of the best blues artists in the world (Carrie Bell, Eddie kirkland,Nappy Brown,Zorah Young,Hubert Sumlin, and more). He has been touring and promoting his own music throughout much of the USA and Europe for 15 years. He performed at Woodstock '99 with his band, The Chris McDermott Love Perimeter. Besides producing all his own recordings he has also produced several records for other artists including Eddie Kirkland's most recent release "Booty Blues." Chris also teaches guitar part time at Berklee College of Music in Boston Massachusetts. The past two years have been a place of less traveling, more writing planning and teaching. but that has changed with the release of a "RADIO GHOSTS, Chris' new CD featuring 13 original songs in a newly inspired bent toward original old school soul combined with some very aggressive, funky archtop acoustic guitar and the ultra human funk grooves of Clyde Stubblefield on the drums.

Chris rocks the depths of funk/blues/soul.
author: David of Route 66 in Philly
Chris continues to rock with his blend of funk/blues/soul with Radio Ghosts. There's a cool island/R&B feel with many of the songs, with garnishes of Mark Knopfler in Hole in the Wall and a Tom Waits seasoning in Even the Devil Gets Right Someday. Cool rhythms and keyboard add smoothness to Chris's cutting-edge guitarwork.
