Every once in a while there comes an artist who you listen to and you think that maybe they were born just for this. Chris Rob is one of those people. Chris Rob has a resume that reads like a who's who in chart topping artists. Opening for Alicia Keys, and the Black Eye Peas, and jamming on stage with Kanye West. Chris Rob has also worked with such musical greats as Stevie Wonder, Prince and New Power Generation, MeShell N'degeocello, Barry Manilow, Roberta Flack, Patti Austin, and Melissa Morgan. That is an impressive resume but in the arena of indie-soul can he get the job done? The answer is yes and quite well actually. Chris Rob's debut solo project "The Official Bootleg of Chris Rob, Vol. 1" showcases Chris's many talents as singer, songwriter and musician.
Chris Rob is not one to place his music in a niche. [He] carries on the tradition set forth by the musical greats before him. Chris progressively pushed forward to redefine soul and create new sounds. With intricate vocal arrangements and gut bucket grooves, Chris set a high bar for indie-soul. This guy is going to be a legend. "The Official Bootleg of Chris Rob, Vol. 1" is going to be a collector's item and comes highly recommended.
