Chris Scott has been punching away at the industry for several years now. Hard Livin, his third indie release, is finally getting the attention he's been looking for from Nashville. It's been a long hard road for Chris with a couple of close calls with major labels. Off his first two indie releases he did a few stints opening for bands like Lynyrd Skynyrd, ZZ Top, Blackfoot, Allman Brothers and Tom Petty with The Brotherly Love Band, which enjoyed a run on local radio in Birmingham with their song "Can't Find My Way Home", and Soul Tramp who toured extensively up and down the east coast. Now establishing himself as a solo artist Chris was able to bring in Double Dragon Studios, headed up by Damon Johnson from Slave to the System and formely of Brother Cane, to produce and lend Johnson's guitar skills to the Hard Livin record. A few other longtime friends of Johnson's and Scott's joined in to round out the mix such as Bill Wilkes on drums who currently tours and records with John Waite, Alan Park on bass from such bands as Revolver, Zig and the Zigtones and currently thumping the strings with Damon and the Welfare. On dobro and mandolin is Barry Waldrep from Rollin In The Hay and Six Ways Til Sunday and finally veteran Mark Phillips from Hotel played some great rockabilly piano and organ to complete the sound. You can find Chris now in honky tonks all over the Southeast region pumpin out classics from Johnny Cash, Hank Williams Jr., Dwight Yokham, and Waylon Jennings along with a slew of classic rock songs that keep the crowds jumping on the dance floor, all the while conducting a pure grass roots movement to promote Hard Livin', the album that is, not the lifestyle. Take it from a man who's lived it, it'll catch up to ya.
