Album Notes

Christian Death are a Los Angeles-based band who have been performing all over the world since their formation in 1980. Theatrical in concept and outrageous in execution, they are at the forefront of the "death rock" movement. Sounds U.K. has said of them-"morose, morbid, moribund, in the tradition of gothic horror trash- unintentionally funny, freaky and demented." These "Live in Hollywood" performances from 1985 include the songs: Awake At The Wall, Sleepwalk, The Drowning, Theatre of Pain, Cavity, The Blue Hour, Electra Descending, As Evening Falls, Face, Cervix Couch, This Glass House, Romeo's Distress.

"Magazines in search of a shocking story and cheap thrills have recently begun paying attention to California's Death Rock scene. Christian Death evokes a broad range of moods, from laments or morbidity to surprisingly tender love lyrics". - Robert Palmer, NY Times

Recorded at the Berwin Entertainment Center and Fenders International Ballroom, 1985

"Christian Death evokes abroad range of moods, from laments or morbidity to surprisingly tender love lyrics." - New York Times

"For the lovers of Christian Death, this is a must get! ROIR has done a fine job of capturing the feelings of Christian Death, it defines their purpose." - Alternative Press

"Live recordings by one of the true founders of the new Death Rock trend. Lots of tormented sensitive vocals and psychedelic nightmare guitars." - Option
