Look for the release of "My Spanish Dream" May 2007. Christine is the Winner of the 2004 USA Songwriting Competition in the Jazz category for her song, "He Wasn't Always That Way"! She was also a Finalist in the 2002 Competition for "Caribbean Nights". This competition is the world's leading International Songwriting event! She's being played on XM Radio and other stations.

Her piece,"Therapy" has been published by Ultra Urban Music for use in television and film. Christine has been writing songs from when she was a teen and recorded some of them on the RCA label. Her quartet was a headliner at The Greater Hartford Festival of Jazz in July 2006 along with Kim Waters,The Woody Herman Orchestra,Walter Beasley, Ray Vega and Steve Davis. They will be back there again in the summer of 2008. Her new CD,"My Spanish Dream" is full of lush vocal harmonies and daring arrangements!
Christine's debut CD has 13 tracks and is 63 minutes long. Her New York group performs her vibrant, multi-faceted vocal and instrumental material that fuses the styles and rhythms of Brazilian/Latin with Pop and Jazz. Each piece is a unique vehicle for creative improvisation. It is energetic, soulful, spicy and it lays down a smooth runway for the piano, saxophone, bass and percussion to take off.

author: Anthony SarroNice Job! Cool sounds, emotion & uniqueness!! I can tell that Christine (the songwriter) is in love with what she does. I assume the other Spero artists are somehow related & it comes out in the tightness of the band. I really enjoyed this one over much of what I find on these direct-from-artist sights. Check this one out!
