Educational backgrounds in classical guitar, piano and ethnomusicology (as a student of ud-player, composer and musicologist Habib Hassan Touma) led Christof Vonderau quickly migrate between classical composition and the expressive field of jazz or improvised music.
Among his credits are documentaries as 'The exchange', a prize nominated film in German TV as well as productions for French/German channel Arte or Discovery Channel.
Participating are in solo and duo performances Christof Vonderau, guitar, Wu Wei, a master of the sheng (chinese mouthorgan) from Shanghai/Berlin and Laurentiu Dinca (first violinist at the Berlin Philharmonic)
'..This music is of excellent kind, it is not imposing itself and creates space for the listener for his own reflections.' Kath. Kirchenzeitung
'It reminds the listener minimalism and contemporary music from Estland like Arvo Pärt, Peteris Vasks or Lepo Sumera.' Radio Bremen
'The music creates rooms for the listener, its ongoing theme is ambivalence, showing that differences can coexist harmonically by showing them clearly.' Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung
'...his guitar playing techniques are superb, and his music is very reflecting and intimate.'
