Dogpatch, named after a fleeting reference in a Bill Hicks monologue, is an album for those of us who can't understand how Americans can claim to love freedom and democracy while simultaneously ignoring the plight of defenseless Iraqi children and poor New Orleans blacks.
My intent was to make a recording that points out some glaring inconsistencies in our culture. If this record makes you uncomfortable, it's probably talking about you.
Musically it's pretty eclectic. I recorded it with some really fine R&B/Jazz/Funk players, a fiddler, a dobro/mandolin player, an upright bassist (the bass, not the player), and a couple of female singers, one of whom I used to sing with at a church I no longer attend. There's country, techno, rock, folk, and funk on the recording. For these reasons, when people ask me what kind of music is on the CD, I honestly don't know what to tell them.
It's also pretty funny in parts. Go figure.

Wow, Mr. Fee. I never knew you were so good! If I had any money I'd buy this! I'm even thinking of suggesting we cover either Gotta Get Wet (my favorite song on here, and one of my new favorites) or Holy Metal. Once again, ANAZING!!!!!
