Dancing With No Shoes On is the first original full length children's recording by singer/songwriter Chuck Cheesman. The recording - which is full of surprises - is a joyful collection of music your whole family can enjoy.
Chuck Cheesman is a performer and educator who began working with young children when he was an instructor at Chicago's Old Town School of Folk Music. Chuck taught in the OTSFM Wiggleworms program (where he had President Barack Obama's family as students) and contributed tracks to the hit album Wiggleworms Love You. During those years Chuck released a CD called A Family Songbook - mostly of familiar cover songs - which is now out-of-print. In addtion to working as a children's music educator/entertainer, Chuck has three full length recordings of original "grown-up" songs under his belt. The most recent, IMAGINING DANCERS, was released in February 2011 and is a soulful collection of socially conscious folk/rock tunes. It has already received nationwide radio airplay and is also available here on CDBABY
Dancing With No Shoes On is a collection of mostly original music. Four tracks have been remastered and carried over from the A Family Songbook CD. These are "Big Blue Dog", "Crawdad Song", "A Big Dog Ate My Homework", and the short but sweet "Aunt Rhody". Nine new tracks round out the album, including Chuck's signature, kid-pleasing rock & roll tune "Dancing With No Shoes On". Other highlights include the clever "Seafood Song", the funky "Milkstache Blues", and the tender lullaby "Sunrise to Sundown".
The recording was produced by Sam Zucchini of the famous children's band The Zucchini Brothers. Sam's determination to make children's music "real music" is apparent on every track. An all-star team of players including Charlie Rose (steel guitar), John Abbey (bass), Larry Clyman (electric guitar), Tony Perrino (organ), Mark Dvorak (banjo), and vocalists Karen Banks-Lubicz and Nancy Walker.
If you're looking for some new music for a long family car ride, look no further. Chuck's smart songwriting and the high quality production will keep the whole family happy.
Dancing With No Shoes On is dedicated to the memory of Steve Jacula.
