Creatures of Habit
author: Sharon Miller
I love this CD! I originally bought it because I went to high school in Redding and had heard the tune "I'd Rather Be in Redding," which brought tears to my eyes. However, when I listened to the CD, I realized that Chuck McCabe has a lot more going for him. "The Contractor" fit my sons-in-law perfectly. "Holidaze," "Meats In A Can," and "Partisan Polka" are really funny. Chuck really has a way with words and music. It was an added bonus to have all the words to the lyrics on this CD included. Buy it, you'll like it!

G'day Chuck.
Just to let you know that I've been listening to your CD with great pleasure. The lyrics are intelligent and literate and your sense of humour really strikes a chord with me. Your thoughts on modern life are right on the button, too - you certainly help explain "all the troubles of a world that's gone insane".
I think my favourite song at the moment is "My Prayer For You" - there have been quite a few with a similar theme but they tend to be a bit sloppy and sentimental for my taste. Yours is full of whimsical wisdom and really appeals. And what a terrific bunch of musicians you've got together!
So - thanks again for letting me have your CD - I'll be adding it to my playlist and featuring it over the next few weeks.

Chuck McCabe has consistenly produced top quality recordings, and his CD, "Creatures of Habit" is one of my favorites for 2008. Chuck has a habit of writing and performing funny, clever, melodic, entertaining songs that belong on folk radio.
