Formed in a surprisingly ambient basement in suburban Kansas City in 1980, BOBBY & THE CHUXX have been recording music on a semi-regular basis for over two decades, amassing a whopping 230 songs on 17 albums. Sure, a lot of it's crap, but c'mon, 230 songs? That's quite a number, right?

It really all started as a joke, just something to do on an afternoon for four junior high school pals, who record under the pseudonyms Bobby Wendalo, thos e, Roillieu and Schwa. But after poking a bit of fun at the burgeoning Punk and New Wave movements for a few hours that afternoon, the four friends decided the joke was good enough to revisit at least once more. That simple inertia combined with a continuing desire to make each other laugh has kept the band afloat for 22 years: at the end of each recording session, if it still seems funny, they schedule a time to do it again.

And just like that, modern (though sadly unknown) classics such as "Don't Hit Me, I'm Full of Shrimp," "Sex for Christmas," "Dial-A-Rhea," "The Jesus Laundromat," "Choke the Mime," "Gypsy Queen Loves the Gallant One," "Hey Man, You're Dead," "Theme of the Guys From France," "Throw Like a Girl," "I'm the Rat Again" and "The Wreck of the F. Scott Fitzgerald" were created.

So, even though the four members live in four different cities (and in three states!), the legacy continues with album #17, WAKING PRESIDENT WAHID.

The four friends still think it's all pretty funny. If you think it is too, well, that's great also.
