Louis is president/creative director of CIAVO Design in Barrington, NJ. Louis lives in Southern New Jersey with his wife Karen, sons Benedict, Zachary and Ethan and cat Vivian and dog Cash. He is a suffering Philadelphia sports fan and loves horror movies and old sitcoms.

Louis' journey into becoming a singer/songwriter has been an interesting one—God's blessing certainly seems to have been upon him.

Born in Bronx, NY in 1963 and raised in Northern New Jersey, Louis had no formal musical training, though he had a considerable interest in the visual arts, eventually attending William Paterson University as a fine art major and later graduating from duCret School of Art in Plainfield, NJ. Music was always important to him. "I remember listening to Casey Kasem's American Top 40 on my transistor radio—yes, I AM that old", recalls Louis.

As a teen he was influenced by the classic rock sounds of Yes, Led Zeppelin, The Beatles, Pink Floyd, Lynyrd Skynrd, The Band, etc. "My parents bought me a used Hagtrom Electric guitar at age 15, but aside from the 4 chords of Smoke on the Water, I don't think I could play much else", says Louis. It was not until accepting God's invitation into new life in Jesus Christ, after many years wrestling with alcohol and drug addiction, did music seem to be a calling.

He began attending Covenant Presbyterian Church with his wife Karen and before he knew it he was in the choir, writing Christian songs and playing and singing during worship. Lauri Talarowski, then music director at Covenant was instrumental in introducing Louis to church music and basics of music and voice theory. He became a fan of artists such as Michael Card, Rich Mullins, Out of the Grey. "I have a real appreciation for those artists who have been bold enough to create a unique sound and not feel compelled to dish out the 'flavor of the day'. says Louis".

Since then, his passion for writing songs for the Lord has fueled him to learn his craft, little by little. Aside from two months of piano and guitar lessons, Louis is self-taught. "I have had difficulty considering myself a musician—there are so many well-trained, amazing people out there who have dedicated there lives and play so effortlessly. I consider myself more of a singer/songwriter. But I have seen God work in my life to help improve my musical skills and put people in place to help" tells Louis.
