There’s a sense of building dread. Something seems to be looming, lurking, and whatever it is, it’s gonna be badass. It’ll probably eat me when it gets here, but at least while it’s happening, I’ll be fuckin’ amazed. It gives me the same kind of feeling I get when listening to Pink Floyd, which I usually like to do while driving. Is this what it would feel like if I were on the moon? If I were in purgatory? Or in one of those nuclear test-site “pseudo cities”? Like being in a place left with a crumbling infrastructure, with no real life to speak of, and in order to endure each passing moment, you have to create the illusion of life in your mind. I feel like going on a road trip now.
