Album Notes

CINARA was born in Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. While in Brazil she sang with the group "J.U.N.C." with performances in Rio De Janeiro to an audience of 50,000 people. She later moved to New Jersey, and for a brief period was lead vocalist for the rock group FREEWILL, and occasionally jammed with "THE BOSS" on Sunday afternoons in Sparta New Jersey which solidified her interest in live performance.

She moved to Florida and was lead vocalist for the Tony Perrin Band in Palm Beach. She than moved to Ohio where she was very active in community theater productions in the Akron/Canton area, mainly in musical productions, which is one of her passions. She performed on stage with Lee Wilkolf in a benefit performance of "Little Shop of Horrors." She was the recipient of a full Drama Scholarship to the Juilliard School in 1982.

As a solo artist she has performed in Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, New York, Brasil and England, singing in her native Portuguese as well as in Spanish, French and English. She performed at various AIDS benefits in the Akron/Canton area. She finished her tenure in the state of Ohio by becoming a vocalist for one of Northeastern Ohio's premiere show bands, Special Effect.

She moved to New Orleans in 2001 where she has performed with "NOSSA CASA", Banda Nova and Cinara e NolaBrasil. Performances with "Nossa Casa" and her C.D. based Band have been at Cafe Brasil and The Spotted Cat at the Marigny on Frenchmen St. New Orleans and a C.D. Promo. performance at The Louisiana Music Factory on Decatur St.,The Blue Nile on Frenchmen St., and The Maple Leaf on Oak St.

Cinara's recent performances with "Nossa Casa"have included THE NEW ORLEANS HERITAGE AND JAZZFEST on April 27, 2003 at "CONGO STAGE." and at Spanish River Plaza for the Microsoft Convention on Wednesday July 16, 2003.

She was the lead female vocalist for Invisible Touch in 2005 with performances at the Beachfest and Lou's Blues. She had planned to move back to New Orleans and than came "Katrina". Will be staying in Central Florida for a while. Hopes to be back on stage again real soon. Will keep you posted!

UPDATE:
Cinara is now back in her beloved New Orleans and is planning on doing the circuit again very soon. It's good to be home. God Bless New Orleans!
