THE CIRCLE OF LOVE

The Circle of Love is comprised of eight beautiful ladies who's lush vocal textures equally embrace accapella and accompanied songs. This eleven-song CD contains a combination of both types of very unique original sacred songs. One traditional Negro-spiritual, "Is There Anybody Here," is also included.

Singer/songwriter, Sherlie Matthews of Mirwood and Motown fame, penned each song and crafted the unique vocal arrangements. Cousin, Myrna Matthews, background singer and a classical pianist is the accompanist. Arnib Samuel, accomplished guitarist, lends his talents on several songs.

Members, Donna Samuel, Myrna Matthews, Sherlie Matthews, Ann Lindstrom, Clara Kilby, Eunice Hughes, Olivene Clavon and Beverly Arties performed for audiences in local churches and other venues for several years.

The first song, "The Circle of Love" was used as the theme song for a christian radio music station for years. "Thank You Jesus" is a duet by Sherlie and Myrna Matthews. Their voices are so similar that it is hard to tell who is singing which part! "I Don't Understand" and "Wiser Than Wise" are two of most requested songs during concerts. "Touch Me Jesus", a healing song, is a favorite for meditation as well as a effective praise song.

The CD can easily be listened to in it's entirety as all of the songs are soft, melodic, and pleasantly worshipful. It also provides a soothing backdrop during hectic drive-time traffic! This collection is suitable for family listening.
